Working to maintain the highest standards of hygiene, durability and practicality for product storage facilities, a major pharmaceutical manufacturer has selected Resdev’s Pumatect high build epoxy resin flooring system for the refurbishment of a warehouse floor with a total surface area of 500m2.
New flooring surface for concrete substrate
Flooring specialists PSC Flooring Ltd were called in to assess the project, where the pharmaceutical manufacturer was looking to refurbish an existing warehouse for the storage of a range of products. The existing concrete substrate had previously been coated using a simple floor paint which had degraded and become worn and flaky. The client wanted to replace this with a new flooring surface providing an attractive high gloss, easy clean finish to match the application.
High performance, wear and abrasion resistant solution
The team from PSC Flooring Ltd recommended two coats of Pumatect, an epoxy flooring system providing excellent long term wear and chemical resistance in use. Pumatect is used in a wide range of environments including food preparation, warehousing, general manufacturing and laboratories, creating a tough and resistant flooring finish which is non-dusting and suitable for regular pedestrian and light duty fork lift truck traffic.
Successful use of colour for demarcation
PSC Flooring Ltd began by shotblasting the existing floor to remove the original paint and using diamond grinding processes to prepare the concrete. The area was then vacuum cleaned and the joints were repaired before applying two coats of Resdev’s Pumatect high build epoxy flooring. The selected colour was mid-grey, with walkways completed in Chelsea Blue for demarcation.
The entire project was completed on time and to budget in just four days, resulting in a robust epoxy resin floor that has transformed the warehouse area and is attractive, hard wearing and easy to clean.
