Robust flooring materials developed by Resdev for performance and longevity have been installed at a state of the art manufacturing plant operated by world-leading battery automation Group TBS. The installation was completed as part of an initiative to upgrade the flooring in the company’s manufacturing facility and to enhance health and safety provision for people employed by the Group.
Resdev Pumashield SF is a low viscosity, high build epoxy floor coating with an attractive gloss finish, creating a tough and hard-wearing surface with excellent abrasion and chemical resistance. The material has been installed worldwide for applications including factories, workshops, warehouses and showrooms and performs well when subjected to regular foot traffic and forklift trucks.
For this application where safety was a primary consideration, Pumashield’s solvent-free properties were of particular benefit. Nuneaton-based Impact Flooring, specifiers and installers for the project, successfully completed a total floor of 800m2 over four separate weekend working shifts, enabling production to continue at TBS and ensuring the process presented no H&S risks for personnel employed in other areas of the production facility.
Pumashield SF is available in a range of colours. For TBS, the aesthetics of the project were also an important consideration, with the material creating an attractive non-dusting gloss finish in light blue, protecting against oil and chemical spillages, with enhance slip-resistant characteristics for added safety.
Following the Pumashield application, with a continued focus on keeping pedestrians safe in a manufacturing area, the floor has been clearly demarcated into safe ingress spaces using floor stenciling and gangway painting to denote safe areas of passage.
