Nuneaton-based flooring specialists Impact have successfully completed the refurbishment of a 9,000m2 warehouse at Midpoint Park near Birmingham. This process used Resdev resin flooring products to return the floor to optimum condition to match the requirements of the building’s new occupants at this premier distribution park.
Original clear seal applied now past its best
The concrete floor had originally been coated using a clear seal, which although it had afforded some protection, was presenting with localised damage where racking and other fixed structures had been removed between tenancies. The building’s owners gave Impact a brief to implement a high quality and durable solution to meet the practical and aesthetic challenges of this refurbishment.
Vital flooring preparation works
The team from Impact Flooring first prepared the concrete floor, using diamond grinding techniques to remove the existing clear sealant. Areas of damage were repaired and leveled using Resdev’s Pumaprime SF together with thixotropic additives to infill holes and cracks.
Pumashield SF perfect for warehouse flooring
Once this work was complete, the team applied two coats of Resdev’s Pumashield SF in a mid-grey colour. This work was carried out in two stages as two separate projects to enable other contractors to progress works in the other half of the building in line with completion deadlines.
Pumashield SF, a two-component 100% solids epoxy floor coating providing excellent abrasion and chemical resistance. It is ideal for areas including warehouses, production floors and workshops, with a gloss finish which is easy to clean and designed to withstand both pedestrian and forklift traffic.
The building is now operational as an integral part of a national warehousing and distribution operation.
